2005
Designer Spaces at the Martin Library...
Diane was invited to participate in the 2005 Designer Spaces
at the Martin Library in York. The historic brownstone was
donated to the library by the Appell Family. Once used as
a ballroom, the Grand Parlor underwent extensive restoration
to reveal the original painting by an Italian artist in 1866.
The restoration was completed by John Canning Painting and
Conservation Studio from Connecticut. In keeping with the
parlor's architecture, moldings, and marble fireplaces, Diane
chose soft silk textiles to compliment the restored colors
and to add yet another dimension of texture and elegance to
the grand space. Imported Italian gold-leaf mirrors hung graciously
above each fireplace and reflected generously the light from
two Flemish chandeliers placed by The Replogle House Interiors.
